Our services drive value for patients, providers, and hospitals.

Our Approach

An Unparalleled Perspective

The world of cancer care is experiencing a profound transition with the adoption of value-based reimbursement. This means providers will be reimbursed on cost and quality—not volume—and patients will entrust their care to those with a proven record of success.

Chartis Oncology Solutions works hand-in-hand with healthcare leaders to prioritize program initiatives, accurately interpret competitive landscapes, anticipate emerging trends, and develop sound strategies for long-term growth and strong financial returns in a value-based world.

    Value-Based Strategic Planning

        A Blueprint for the Future
Environmental Assessment

Cancer is a unique disease as are the programs that treat it. The situational assessment evaluates the unique market, cultural, and programmatic elements that define the current state of your cancer program.

Strategic Planning

The planning phase involves the creation of a broadly-endorsed vision and an actionable set of strategies aimed at maximum value creation.

Business Case

Our plans are complemented with robust financial models tailored to the market projections, utilization, and investments required for success.

Care Design & Implementation

A strategic plan and business case are empty vessels without a sound implementation approach. Preparing for 2020 will require a disciplined and thoughtful execution of the strategy and a complete value-based overhaul of the cancer care delivery model.

When hospitals and oncologists establish sound partnerships, both sides benefit—and so do patients.

Oncology Solutions has helped create hundreds of mutually beneficial relationships between hospitals and physicians. We firmly believe that the future of cancer care will belong to those who unite under a vision of patient-centered, cost-effective care through shared goals and incentives that promote a sustainable business.
Our Alignment Services:

Oncology Transactional
Ventures & Services

Alignment occasionally involves the merging of entire cancer businesses, between hospitals or between hospitals and practices.

Our vast experience with a range of business models produces sustainable programs focused on economics of scale, clinical efficiency, and market superiority.

    Care Design & Operations

        Creating an Intensely Human Experience

Value-Based Care Design

Is a Team Activity

Delivering value in cancer care relies on disease-specific care design, clinical standardization, and a team-based approach to caring for the patient. Our Clinical Performance Groups (CPGs) collaborate on developing tumor-specific programs, creating clinical pathways, and designing the future of cancer care.

Our core approach to CPG facilitation is to:

  • engage physicians, allied health professionals, administrators, and patients
  • build endorsement around what “value” means to the physicians
  • identify measurable proxies for this value
  • utilize national guidelines to develop institution-specific clinical pathways
  • improve through process optimization, care standardization, and candid dialogue

Chartis Oncology Solutions has initiated more than 80 CPG teams and 850 meetings, including:

6 Brain & Spine CPGs • 17 Breast CPGs • 5 Colon and Rectal CPGs • 8 Gastrointestinal CPGs • 5 Genitourinary CPGs • 6 Gynecologic CPGs • 5 Head and Neck CPGs • 2 Hematologic CPGs • 1 Hepatobiliary/Upper Gastrointestinal CPG • 1 Pediatric CPG • 3 Skin and Soft Tissue CPGs • 21 Thoracic CPGs

May Chouteau, Planning ConsultantSeton Healthcare Family

“When their consultants began working with us, we only had the concept of developing a comprehensive cancer institute at the University of South Alabama. They were extremely savvy at negotiating the "onco-politics" that so many academic institutions face. And, with their guidance through clinical, research, facilities, recruitment and scientific lab planning, today the USA-Mitchell Cancer Institute has over 100 employees, over 125 million dollars in federal, state and a 120,000 square foot integrated clinical and research building. Oncology Solutions was instrumental in charting this course and we are now positioned with the right organizational structure and facility to meet our goals in the coming years.”
